After completing her bachelor’s degree, Dr. Campbell was selected for a one-year post-baccalaureate research position in Miami, Florida. During this experience, she developed a passion for researching and treating anxious youth. She continued to strengthen this expertise during graduate training, gaining extensive experience treating severe anxiety disorders. Her clinical training included treating patients in residential and intensive outpatient programs at the McLean OCD Institute in Houston. She also pursued advanced training in providing treatment to young children and adolescents through exposure-based intensive programs, including a selective mutism treatment program.
After completing her graduate training and while working as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Campbell discovered her passion for developing intensive programs for children and adolescents. She developed and directed the first summer camp program (formally known as Camp Courage) in the Boston area for anxious youth that utilized exposure based interventions. This led to her developing similar programs that have a focus on reducing anxiety symptoms with a fun and supportive approach.
