Dr. Peters is a clinical psychologist who uses a strengths-based approach grounded in evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She works with adults who feel stuck, are experiencing depression, anxiety, life transitions, or seemingly unsurmountable challenges. Dr. Peters’ authenticity, ability to empathize, encourage, and challenge her clients creates a safe, welcoming space, where her clients learn new skills, explore, and grow. Dr. Peters combines evidenced-based treatment with a creative, culturally sensitive, collaborative, person-centered approach. Her goal for each client is to help them create and live their best life.
Dr. Peters is an exposure therapist for the Intensive CBT Program for Anxiety and OCD, a 2-week accelerated treatment program that provides concentrated individual CBT and exposure therapy to adults and adolescents with OCD, social anxiety, panic disorder, agoraphobia, health anxiety, and specific phobias.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
Dr. Peters has experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She brings curiosity and an evolving awareness of our multiple identities, intersectionality, and how experiences and culture shape who we are, how we think, and how we experience our inner and external relationships. She has worked with underserved and disadvantaged individuals both professionally and personally. Dr. Peters has spent much of her adult life in community service, working with agencies and non-profit organizations, with the goal of changing the world one person at a time. Her lifelong commitment to this goal is what incentivized her to become a psychologist. Dr. Peters is committed to ongoing self-reflection and learning about differences and similarities that shape and inform her work with clients.
