Clinical Expertise
Emily is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts. She has training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). She has extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, and older adults with substance use disorders, various mental health concerns, and life transitions. Emily uses a person-centered approach and works with each client to create individualized treatment goals.

Training
Emily received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Nebraska – Omaha in Social Work. She completed her internship at the Omaha VA, conducting various groups and individual therapy with veterans, service members, and their families. Emily went on to work in a hospital setting, in both behavioral and medical departments in the state of Massachusetts, where she received her LICSW. She has worked with adolescents and adults who had addictions and a wide range of mental health concerns. She created and facilitated therapeutic groups focusing on anxiety, grief, and addictions. Emily also worked with adults and older adults with cancer; she provided emotional support to cancer patients and their family members, supporting individuals while they coped with the diagnosis and prognosis, both curative and metastatic. She helped patients adjust to all of the life transitions that come with a new medical diagnosis such as changes to physical appearance, mental health, family roles, and much more.
