Clinical Expertise
Emily is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Massachusetts. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). She has extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, and older adults with substance use disorders, various mental health concerns, and life transitions. Emily uses a person-centered approach and works with each client to create individualized treatment goals.

Training
Emily received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Nebraska – Omaha in Social Work. She completed her internship at the Omaha VA in the Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program, conducting various groups and individual therapy. Emily went on to work in a hospital setting, in both behavioral and medical departments in the state of Massachusetts, where she received her LICSW. She worked with adults who had addictions in various stages of change and a wide range of mental health concerns. She created and facilitated therapeutic groups and has specialized training in SMART Recovery and SMART Recovery for Family and Friends. Emily also worked with adults and older adults with cancer; she provided emotional support to cancer patients and their family members, supporting individuals while they cope with the diagnosis and prognosis, both curative and metastatic. She helped patients adjust to all of the life transitions that come with a new medical diagnosis such as changes to physical appearance, mental health, family roles, and much more.
